Youth

Young Adults (grades 7-12)

Come and join us for fun and fellowship each and every Sunday from 12pm-2pm.  If you can’t make it one week, that is ok! We’d love to see you come the next week.  During this time we share in Bible Study as we eat our lunch.  At times, the youth will meet at a restaurant for a change of scenery.  After Bible Study, the group has open time where we play games or just chill.

Once a month an activity is planned away from the church, like a trip to the zoo.  This gives our Young Adults a chance to interact away from the church, while still being among friends for fellowship.

Monthly, the Young Adults host a community service event – Babysitting Night for Families.  The community nearby drops off their children and we watch them for several hours for a small fee.  This is a successful event, and has been occurring for over 5 years!  It’s a rewarding experience for the Youth, and a great opportunity to connect with our community.  The parents are free to do what they need to do and the children get to play and have fun in a safe environment.  The youth and volunteers participating have a great time as well!

Plan to attend our Young Adult gatherings and bring a friend or two with you.  The more the merrier!

Confirmation (grades 6-8)

Confirmation for Youth grades 6-8 is held on Wednesday evenings starting the first Wednesday in September.  The Confirmation program is an opportunity for Youth to affirm their faith and learn about the Lutheran beliefs.  After two years of learning, Youth are given the opportunity to participate in Confirmation Sunday, which is held the first Sunday in May and includes the Confirmands’ First Communion and an affirmation of their faith.

Scouts

The Boy Scouts currently meet on Monday evenings at 7 pm. The troop dues are $10.00 per month (camping fees are based on each campout separately – food, etc).

If you are new to the area and looking for a Scout troop, we would love to have you visit us.

Visit the Boy Scout Troop #476 web site for additional information.
